Excess body fat increases an individual’s risk of premature death from diseases such as coronary heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes mellitus, gallbladder, dyslipidemia (cholesterol family), stroke, osteoarthritis, stress incontinence, depression, gout, and certain types of cancers, Bethesda (MD): National Institutes of Health.   It is also associated with sleep apnea, and low self esteem.
