We will help you lose the extra weight in a natural, healthy, and safe way by applying principles of nutrition and physical activities. Excess body fat puts you at risk of premature death from diseases such as coronary heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes mellitus, gallbladder, dyslipidemia (cholesterol family), stroke, osteoarthritis, stress incontinence, depression, gout, and certain types of cancers, Bethesda (MD): National Institutes of Health. It is also associated with sleep apnea, and low self esteem.
We understand that scales lie sometimes. Body weight alone does not give the whole picture. That's why we include body fat, nutrient, and water analyzer in our program.
We will provide you with an individualized meal plan while paying attention to healthier choices, portion sizes, meal spacing, and frequency of meals and snacks. We will complete the program with taking you through our fitness training consisting of cardiorespiratory and resistance training in our facility. Aggressive management of high blood sugar, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and weight are essential in preventing or delaying the onset of long term complications of diabetes such as heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, amputation, and blindness. Individuals with diabetes who are overweight need to lose at least 5 – 10 % of their current weight as recommended by Diabetes Association of Canada.
We will provide you with free glucometer (blood sugar machine) for monitoring your blood sugar at home.

Do you have metabolic syndrome?
You have metabolic syndrome if you have 3 or more of the following conditions:
1. Pre-diabetes (borderline diabetes)
2. Waist circumference more than 102cm (40 inches) for men and 88cm (35 inches) for women
3. Blood pressure more than 130/80
4. HDL (good) cholesterol less than 1.0 mmol/L for men and less than 1.3 mmol/L for women
5. Triglyceride (a type of body fat) equal to or more than 1.7 mmol/L
